Obituary

Billy Junior Wilson was born on April 30, 1951, and departed this life on April 26, 2026, just four days shy of his 75th birthday. His life was marked by service, creativity, and a spiritual appreciation of mother Earth.

Billy graduated from Bristow class of 1969. He got his foot in the door of the workforce with Southwestern Bell Telephone (now AT&T) but took leave to enlist in the United States Army. He transitioned from Regular Army to National Guard until his honorable discharge at retirement. He also finished out his career with AT&T. There, he earned a second retirement and several awards for his work which he displayed with pride on the walls of his Bristow home.

Billy, Beej, BJ, Bill or Dad to more than one lost or confused youth, loved spending time with friends and nature. He loved camping, scuba diving, and moonlight bonfires. When he physically could not do those things anymore, he developed a special fondness for mineral and rock collecting, seeing beauty and meaning in each stone. His creativity shone through across his life, always eager to learn new crafts with a real talent for jewelry making. His heart, however, always belonged to the theater. He was active as a volunteer in various community theaters across his lifespan and was a multi-decades long patron of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The theater was his home away from home, the place he always felt like himself.

Billy is survived by more cousins than can be named, his daughter, Paula Darrow, her spouse AJ Darrow, and four grandchildren, Kayden, Persephone, Lex, and Dylan Darrow. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Mays and father Jack Wilson.
