Billy Leon Childress Jr. was born on February 26, 1960, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Billy Leon Childress Sr. and Bonita Grace Childress. He departed this life on September 16, 2026, at the age of 66.

Billy graduated from Coweta High School and worked for many years at Olsson, where he served as a bridge inspector. Through his work, he assisted county commissioners with the engineering of bridges. He took great pride in his job and was always willing to do whatever was needed to see a project through.

In his spare time, Billy enjoyed fishing and cooking—sometimes combining the two by catching the fish and preparing them himself. He was a friend to many and was always willing to take the time to visit.

Billy was a member of Praise Center Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his partner, Gayla Brown; two sons, Toby Lynn Childress and wife Sarah, Jay Ryan Childress and wife Sarah; his parents, Billy and Bonita Childress; three siblings, Belva Leverett and husband Terry, Jimmy Childress, and Ellen Davis and husband Joe; six grandchildren, Sophia Childress, Caleb Childress, Penelope Childress, Gabriella Childress, Julliette Childress, and Phelix Bouman; and one great-grandchild, River Bouman.
