Betty Jewel Stepanich was born May 16, 1934, to Franklin Pearl and Myrtle (McFarland) Pittser in Shamrock, Oklahoma. She departed this life November 16, 2021, at the age of 87. She graduated from Shamrock High School. On September 23, 1955, Betty Jewel Pittser and Albert Stepanich were united in marriage. From this union were born three children, Hal, Debra and Kisma. They enjoyed over fifty-five years together before his passing September 15, 2006. Betty enjoyed crocheting, putting together jig saw puzzles, and playing marbles. She loved her cat "Twinkie" who kept her company after her husband passed away. Her true joy came when she was able to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Hal Stepanich, Debra Ames, and Kisma Reidling; five grandchildren, Tammie Mershon, Tommy Mershon, Kizzy Stepanich, Tristan Reidling and Ajale Bleu Jonich; eight great grandchildren, Christopher Mershon, Courtney Call, Chelsey Call, Rachel Mershon, Justin Mershon, Jace Mooney, Miranda Mershon, Addison Knighton. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. A viewing will be held at Matherly-Davis Funeral Home Monday November 22, 2021 from 4-7 PM. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 12:30pm at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
