Betty Jo Baity was born April 10, 1930, to Ray and Helen Vandament in Afton, Oklahoma.  She departed this life March 9, 2022 at the age of 91 years.

Betty, better known as Jo, was a fourteen-year resident of Kellyville, Oklahoma.  She and her husband, Gene, had previously resided in Bellevue, Washington, for forty-five years. Betty Jo Vandament and Ira Eugene Baity were united in marriage February 21, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Gene was in the U.S. Navy, and then upon his honorable completion of his enlistment, the family settled down in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where he went to work and Jo attended Oklahoma College for Women earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  Jo began her teaching career in 1954, where she taught twenty years in Issaquah, Washington, while raising her family of three.

Jo is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gene; three children, LaMont Baity of Fairfield, Texas; LenRae Baity and husband Andrew Clifford of Mesa, Arizona and Dwight Baity and wife Susan of Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren, Jessi Baity, Christina Baity, Rebecca Baity and Robert Baity. She was preceded in death by her parents.
