Aretha Michelle
Williams-Breman
Mar 25, 1968 — Jan 21, 2024
Bristow
Aretha Breman was born March 25, 1968, to Violet and James Williams in Bristow, Oklahoma. She departed this life January 21, 2024, at the age of 55.
She graduated from Bristow High School in 1986. She had worked at Taco Mayo and Bartlett-Collins Glass Company.
If you knew Aretha, you know the song Lord Help Me to Hold Out was just one of her favorite songs to sing. Aretha was baptized at an early age and sung in the Duffey Chapel Baptist Church choir leading and singing this song. Aretha from a young age was unique in her own way which led her to developing a strong personality, sometimes getting her in trouble. Aretha lost her mother at an early age and helped to care for her siblings. A person could say this provided her to grow up quicker. She became a mother early in life, which being a mother brought her so much joy. She was blessed to have five children; Violet, Stacey, Daphney, Tracy and Kelly whom she loved dearly. Her children and her grandchildren were important to her.
Aretha did her best as she fought a sickness that she couldn't overcome. She lost the earthly battle, but she gained a heavenly entrance on January 21st. Her body was weak and needed rest and we are confident she is in the bosom of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by five children, Stacey Brown Jr., Tracey Williams, Violet Jackson, Daphney Jackson, and Kelly Jackson; three sisters, Sheila Williams, Lisa Williams, and Sophia Foster; five grandchildren, Jay'lan Burrell, Samaya Leann Brown, Aurora Brown, Hezekiah Wayne Jackson, Desire Jackson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Harrison, father, James Williams and Francis Mudgett, one brother, James Foster and one niece, Danika Williams.
Services are 1:00pm, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Harlinsville Cemetery near Bristow.
