Alice Glennell Pickett was born January 21, 1934, to Benjamin Blunt and Alta (Price) Blunt in Cache, Oklahoma. She departed this life on March 30, 2023 in Oklahoma City.
Glennell was united in marriage to William F. Pickett on April 7, 1950, and to this union four children, Melanie, Cathy, Michael and Jeff were born. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1998.
Glennell received her Bachelors degree in Education from Northern Colorado, teaching for many years. She was member of the First Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren, reading the Bible, sewing, cross stitching and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed pulling weeds, and her husband joked that if she were to pass first, he would have a statue made of her pulling weeds.
She is survived by her children, Melanie McCool and husband, Tony, of Cushing, Michael Pickett and wife, Kim, of Oklahoma City and Jeff Pickett and wife, Jana, of Midland, Texas; one brother, Charles Blunt and wife, Helen, of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Jennifer Davidson and husband, Dustin, Julie Copeland and husband, Chris, Jonathan Pickett and wife, Michelle, Bryan McCool and wife, Hayley, Megan Baggarly and husband, Aaron, Timothy McCool, Kristoffer Pickett, Steven Pickett and wife, Felicia and Donnie Pickett; great-grandchildren, Bryson Pickett, Chase Pickett, Deacon Pickett, Easton Pickett, Max Pickett, Corbin Davidson, Coy Davidson, Cooper Davidson, Carsten Copeland, Michael Copeland, Shelby Copeland, Mia McCool, Rylan McCool, Brekyn McCool, Knoxyn McCool, Logan Teruel and Kimber Pickett; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Glennell was preceded in death by on daughter, Cathy Pickett; one sister, Jeannie Simpson and one brother, Gary Blunt.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, at the First Baptist Church.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 – 6 p.m.
