Gale Anderson, known by his family and friends as "Froggy", longtime Cushing resident, died from cancer on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. The son of the late Virgil and Christine (Hudson) Anderson, Gale was born on September 22, 1940 in Cushing and was raised and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in 1958. In 1954, Gale and Richard Green started their own motorcycle club. It is still active today and membership is by invitation only. Gale began his career in Cushing at Kerr McGee Refinery for ten years. He also worked as a 653 vessel inspector and finished his career with Sun at the Tulsa refinery when he retired in 2004 to spend time with his mom. After 3 months, he decided retirement was over rated and returned to work. Never losing his enthusiasm, he continued to work until he developed MDS last June. He loved his work as an industrial inspector, building and racing his own race car, watching and attending drag races, riding motorcycles & taking motorcycle trips with friends and making people laugh by telling stories and jokes. He is survived by his fiancé, Cindy Hart of the home; his children, Michael Anderson and his wife Redonna, Mark Anderson, Jason Anderson, and Kristen Knight; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many lifelong friends of Cushing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Scott Lee Anderson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Pastor Jim Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Motorcycle riders are asked to wear their gear and escort Gale to the cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.
